Taxonomy of Seaweed

Inspired by the scientific taxonomy of seaweed, which first sorts seaweed by color (red, brown, or green), each drawing subverts that convention and eliminates any visual reference to hue. The only indication of color exists in the works’ titles. Each title uses evocative language to convey the hue of a given specimen, while simultaneously leaving much to the viewer’s imaginative interpretation.
